Spring Cleaning Day 22: Oven
Ahh… the dreaded oven clean. You knew it was coming and today is the day!
How to clean you oven
Vinegar and baking soda are your friend when it comes to cleaning the oven without chemicals (although, let’s be honest, chemicals do a pretty good job).
Start by removing all the shelves and then placing a bowl of water in the oven and heating it up. The steam will help loosen any grime.
While still warm, dust all surfaces with baking powder and then using a spray bottle with vinegar, spray everything. The baking soda will bubble and help remove the grime.
You will then need to get in there with some elbow grease and a scrubbing brush to remove any stubborn grime.
Give the shelves and racks a good soak in hot water (the bath is great for this if your sink is too small) and then clean with a scrubbing brush.
I like to line the bottom of the oven with baking paper so any drips land there and not into the crevices.
