Spring Cleaning Day 11: Curtains & blinds
You made it! We are nearing the end of week two and today we are finishing off the soft furnishings.
It’s time to pull down all the curtains and give them a wash. Most curtains can go through the gentle cycle in the washing machine (depending on fabric). Give any blinds a good vacuum (and a steam clean if you happen to have one). Get onto any venetian blinds and give them a solid dust and wipe over, they are a bit of a nightmare for dust but it’s time to get it over with.
If you have a big house with lots of windows then today’s task might be a big one so take advantage of the weekend to get through it all. Make sure you give the curtains an iron before hanging them back up. I’m usually an advocate for avoiding ironing at all costs but it really is necessary!
If you missed it yesterday we were washing and refreshing pillows and pillow covers. Check out the article on how often to replace your pillows (& how to wash them) as well. Again, this post on stain removal for ideas on spot removing stains on curtains and blinds.
If you haven’t already, make sure you join our Facebook group. It is a lovely group of supportive women (there are a few men but it’s mostly us girls).
