Put this slow cooker osso bucco on first thing in the morning and come home to a delicious and simple dinner!
Serves: 6-8
  • 1-1.5 kg Osso bucco veal
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 medium onions, thickly sliced
  • 3 teaspoons crushed garlic
  • 2 x 425g tins crushed tomato
  • 1 / 2 cup dry white wine (optional)
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tbs dried parsley
  • Any vegetables on hand (carrot, potato, sweet potato, zucchini etc)
  1. Brown veal in oil and set aside.
  2. Add onion and garlic to the same pan and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add all ingredients to slow cooker and set to high for 3-4 hours.
  4. If too wet, thickened with a flour/water paste.
Can be cooked in oven on 150 degrees for 2-3 hours as an alternative.
