Spring is here and it is time to declutter! I’ve got 7 tasks to help you with decluttering your home and your life.
Decluttering Day 1: The Car
For me, keeping the car clutter free is a daily struggle. It doesn’t seem to matter how many times I clear it out, junk just seems to accumulate. On any given day you can find mail, kids toys, spare clothes, random rubbish, a few drink bottles and who know what other random stuff.
Today, we are getting the car clutter free and setting up so that we can keep it that way more easily.
Grab a garbage bag and chuck anything that is rubbish.
Grab a washing basket or box and dump everything that doesn’t belong in the car into it. Sort it as soon as you get inside so you aren’t just moving the mess!
Put together a car pack. This is the stuff you need access to in the car. It might include things like changes of clothes for kids, spare nappies & wipes, tissues, a towel a few plastic bags etc. Once you know what you need, package it all in a bag or storage box (I’ve been using a divided box that I bought from Kmart)
Work out what to do with rubbish. Perhaps a plastic bag will do or maybe a little flip top bin would be best for you. Whatever it is, have a system that will help you keep rubbish contained and easier to remove.
Keep it tidy! Every day, remove stuff that doesn’t belong and empty your rubbish bag or bin. The more frequently you do it, the less out of control it will get.
