Christmas Cookies Recipe

Christmas Cookies RecipeWith Christmas fast approaching we have been getting busy with Christmas crafts and cooking. For the 1st of December I decided it was the perfect time to share this cute Christmas cookies recipe.
These gorgeous Christmas cookies are so easy to make and would make a lovely little gift for teachers, neighbours or anyone else you want to say a little Merry Christmas too!

Christmas Cookies Recipe

Cook time:  10 mins
Total time:  30 mins

Ingredients
  • 125g softened butter
  • ½ cup caster sugar
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1 cup self raising flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2-3 tablespoons of milk (as needed)
  • Icing sugar and food colouring for decorations
Instructions
  1. Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees
  2. Mix sugar and butter until creamy and fluffy
  3. Add salt and egg and mix until combined
  4. Add flour ½ a cup at a time, mixing until completely combined
  5. If mixture is too dry and crumbly, add in a small amount of the milk
  6. Knead mixture until it is supple and holds together well
  7. Roll out to 5-10mm thick
  8. Use cookie cutters to cut shapes from dough and place on baking tray
  9. Bake for 8-10 minutes until slightly browned & allow to cool
  10. Decorate as desired

    Oh my gosh I’ve seen so many Christmas treat recipes these last few days it’s no wonder folk put it on over the holidays. These are so pretty, beautifully decorated. #teamIBOT

    What a great to make with the kids. My boys love to ‘help’ me decorate biscuits, although they do end up eating most of the icing!
