Turn off the tap while you brush your teeth
This is such an easy thing to do but many people just let the water continue to run. Did you know that by just making this one change you can save 30 litres of water A DAY!! That’s over 10,000 litres a year.
Encourage your kids to shower rather than bath
A full bath uses 100+ litres of water. A 5 minute shower uses only 35 litres. If you have children, get them to have a shower at least sometimes instead of a bath. My two boys 1 & 3 love showering!
Wash fruit and vegetables in a bowl
Washing fruit and vegetables under a running tap wastes a lot of water. Rinse them off in a bowl or bucket of water and then use that water on your garden.
Wash your pets outdoors on the grass
Choose a spot in the garden that could do with a good watering and wash your pets there. Make sure you choose products that won’t destroy your grass though!
If you have a pool, keep it covered
Keeping your pool covered not only helps to keep it warm and leaf free for swimming but it also reduces water condensation saving you water.
