Welcome to Day Nine!
Today’s decluttering task is…KIDS CLOTHES
I know this one is a big one for many, probably the biggest of the challenge in fact!
You might find this post (or this one) on organising kids clothes helpful.
If you didn’t already, it is probably also a good time to make a trip to the local charity store so your home is ready for this weeks tasks!
Remember it is OK to get rid of stuff that is new/unused or even expensive. Re-gift it, give it to charity, just don’t KEEP it!
Remember to think about these things when deciding if something should stay or go.
Do I use it?
Do I love it?
Does it serve a genuine purpose for a genuine need I have?
Am I keeping it “just in case”?
My kinds are now adults so this one is easy. They get rid of their own clothes and my son did just that a month ago. I have a couple of baby items from when they kids were young but only two or three sentimental items so not an issue re cluttering up our home. The rest we donated, threw out or passed on years and years ago.
Hi Robyn,
Well you get a day off! Make good use of it 😉
We have come in late to this challenge but can see the results. How many bags do two people need? Both kids have left home so today I will reclaim the wardrobes where those few final items remain. The whole experience to date has been interesting and rewarding. A few odd jobs that have waited a long time have also been achieved as we procrastinate on some tasks. Thanks for the tips.
I’m so glad to hear you found it helpful 🙂
