Welcome to Day Eight!
Today’s decluttering task is…COOKBOOKS
I had a revelation about cookbooks recently. I owned a LOT of them. As in 30 or 40 or maybe more. Some I had never even opened, and I realised that even though I had all these great cookbooks I always ended up searching online for recipes.
I guess it is a sign of the times but it did make me realise that I really didn’t need all the ones I had and I certainly didn’t need to buy any more!
Today, go through your cookbooks. Do you use them? Do they offer something unique that you can’t easily access online? If not, get rid of them! I know it will be hard, but just do it. Don’t spend forever looking through them, don’t get sentimental, just put them in a box to go to charity and be done with it.
It is probably also a good time to make a trip to the local charity store so your home is ready for this weeks tasks!
Remember it is OK to get rid of stuff that is new/unused or even expensive. Re-gift it, give it to charity, just don’t KEEP it!
Remember to think about these things when deciding if something should stay or go.
Do I use it?
Do I love it?
Does it serve a genuine purpose for a genuine need I have?
Am I keeping it “just in case”?
