30 Day Declutter Challenge: Day 4

June 4, 2015 By: Michelle3 Comments

Welcome to Day Four!

Today’s decluttering task is… BAGS

This one was a tricky one for me as I actually don’t have a whole heap of bags.

Today’s task can include everything from getting rid of handbags, sport bags, toiletries bags, plastic bags through to clearing out all the rubbish that accumulates in the bags!

Some things to consider:

  • Do you use it?
  • Is it practical?
  • Does it serve a purpose?

If you never reach for it, let it go.

It is OK to get rid of stuff that is new/unused or even expensive. Re-gift it, give it to charity, just don’t KEEP it!

Remember to think about these things when deciding if something should stay or go.

Do I use it?
Do I love it?
Does it serve a genuine purpose for a genuine need I have?
Am I keeping it “just in case”?

You can share your decluttering efforts on today’s post on the Facebook page or by tagging #AOL30daydeclutter on Instagram.

Finally caught up. We have lots of plastic bags but every few weeks we bag them up to give to a friend who gives them to a shopkeeper she knows to use at their kiosk for customers. The rest we re-use as rubbish bags. I don’t have a lot of handbags but found one I bought as part of a gift voucher prize I had won on FB and had never used. I finally decided to sell it on Ebay and was pleased to make a bonus $100. Then just last week hubby went to donate some stuff and I saw an old handbag sitting on my shelf that I’d not used in probably a year so ruthlessly added it to his pile in the car. Don’t think there are any more but later today will check our cupboards.
