Welcome to Day Two!
Today’s decluttering task is… TOILETRIES!
You know the half used bottles of random stuff hiding in your vanity? Yep, time to get rid of them.
Some things to consider:
- How old is it? You might find this post helpful on used by dates for makeup and cosmetics.
- Do you use them?
- Do you have multiples?
If you’ve not used it for six months then it can go.
It is OK to get rid of stuff that is new/unused or even expensive. Re-gift it, give it to charity, just don’t KEEP it!
There is a fabulous organisation called The Beauty Bank that will take unopened toiletries. You can find the info HERE. Thank you to the lovely readers who suggested this!
Remember to think about these things when deciding if something should stay or go.
Do I use it?
Do I love it?
Does it serve a genuine purpose for a genuine need I have?
Am I keeping it “just in case”?
You can share your decluttering efforts on today’s post on the Facebook page or by tagging #AOL30daydeclutter on Instagram.
Ready, Set, GO!
Late the challenge but catching up fast since I had already started doing this task too a month ago. Am very reluctant to throw things away that are hardly used but realised if they are too old they may no longer do their purpose or harbour bacteria that could be harmful to my skin so was very ruthless and cleared out lots of items. Still trying to use up a few that were left to get my cupboard back to just the basics.
