It’s that time of the week again where we get into some quick easy organisation tasks to keep you, your home & your life under control. Now don’t panic, but this week I am going to mention Christmas…
Task 1: Work out a Christmas budget
If you are like many people, you start each new year with a nice little credit card bill or a significant hit to your savings. It is easy to get caught up in the Christmas shopping excitement and go a little crazy when it comes to spending so now is the time to sit down and plan.Work out what you will need to spend money on this Christmas including gifts, entertainment, food, holidays etc and then work out where that money is going to come from. My guide to saving $1500 by Christmas may help.
Task 2: Go through a bookshelf
Pick a bookshelf in your home and do some decluttering. Throw out books that are tattered and never used and donate anything that someone else may benefit from. Give away or sell anything the kids have outgrown and do a general tidy up of the shelves.
Task 3: Plan some “you” time
This task is a little different and it’s all about getting your own headspace decluttered and organised. Find an hour or two where you can do an activity this weekend that is all about relaxing, de-stressing and refreshing. Perhaps find a deserted park or beach and lie reading a book, go to a yoga class, have a bath with candles in the dark (with NO kids in the house) or sit on the top of a mountain or cliff and take in the view. The activity isn’t really important, it’s about clearing and decluttering your mind, slowing down and taking some time to refresh.
I hope you have a wonderful, refreshing and productive weekend.
